Outpatient Detox

Outpatient treatment for substance abuse can be an ideal option if you have the motivation to get sober but can’t afford to take a leave from work, can’t disrupt school attendance, or can’t step away from your family long enough to attend an inpatient detox center.

Addiction to alcohol, opioids, or other drugs, falls on a spectrum. Your condition can be classified as mild, moderate or severe. Outpatient rehab programs work best for those with mild or moderate disorders, while an inpatient program has a higher chance of success for those with severe disorders, as well as those with comorbid medical conditions.

Getting A Stable Start

Going through withdrawal can feel like having a terrible case of the flu. Nausea, body aches, fever, and fatigue are common withdrawal symptoms. Anxiety, depression, restlessness, and irritability can occur as well. The medical staff at Embracia Health have great expertise in helping you detox comfortably and safely from alcohol, opioids, and other drugs so you can engage fully in your treatment program.

Medically Supervised – Since withdrawal from alcohol and some other drugs can be life-threatening, our detox process is closely supervised.
Medication – Our medical staff maximize the use of medications to reduce the discomfort of withdrawal. The type of detox medication used depends on the severity of addiction, type of substance abuse, and other factors.

What To Expect

After an extensive initial evaluation, our addiction specialists will evaluate your medical health, psychiatric comorbidities, and chemical use history to design an individualized drug or alcohol detoxification plan for you. Once you decide on a starting date, you will come to the clinic on that day to start your detox program. For the first week, you may be required to visit the clinic as frequently as once a day.

Once you are medically stable, you will continue to be medically monitored to make sure your symptoms continue to improve and adjustments can be made to your treatment plan as needed.

After the first week, you will be expected to visit the clinic every 2-4 weeks, until you reach the maintenance phase.
