PA Scot is a graduate of Long Island University class of 2008 in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his undergraduate studies in Psychology and Sociology from University of San Diego in 2000. He then worked with San Diego Developmental Specialists, a developmental behavioral pediatric clinic.
After two years of working with children with developmental disabilities, he completed his pre-medical coursework at Southern Connecticut State University, then became an EMT and worked as an Emergency Department Technician at Providence Memorial Hospital in El paso. In 2006, he began his training as a Physician Assistant in Brooklyn. With a long standing interest in mental health, Scot accepted a position with Bridgeport Hospital Department of Psychiatry upon graduating in 2008.
He has enjoyed working in acute psychiatric settings with children and adults. In 2011, he accepted a research position with CCR, and has remained very happy working in Austin as an investigator in clinical trials. He also enjoys working with patients who struggle with alcohol and substance use disorders at Austin Recovery Center.
PA Scot has spent a great deal of his free time traveling the world, and volunteering in medically underserved areas in countries such as Mexico and Costa Rica.
